Media & Photography Policy

Purpose

This Policy explains how RDSA handles photographs, video, audio, testimonials, and other media created during academy activities.

Media Capture

RDSA may capture media for instruction, student feedback, safety review, incident documentation, internal training, security, historical records, website content, social media, advertising, and academy promotion.

Consent and Notice

Where required, RDSA will obtain consent through registration terms, a media release, posted notice, verbal notice, or another reasonable method. Students should notify staff before training if they have a concern about promotional photography.

Third-Party Sharing

RDSA does not sell or license identifiable student photographs or videos to unrelated third parties for their independent advertising or commercial marketing.

Media may be provided to vendors acting for RDSA, insurers, legal advisers, regulators, emergency personnel, or law enforcement when legally required, supported by valid process, reasonably necessary to investigate an incident, or needed to protect safety, security, rights, or property.

Student Recording

Students may not record other participants, instructors, private conversations, proprietary course content, security procedures, or restricted areas without permission. RDSA may require recording to stop or media to be deleted where lawful and appropriate.

Requests Concerning Public Media

A person shown in public promotional media may submit a reasonable removal request. RDSA will review the request but may retain media where required for safety, legal, evidentiary, insurance, historical, or operational reasons.

Ownership and License

Unless otherwise agreed, media created by RDSA or its contractors remains owned by RDSA or the creator. Student-submitted testimonials or media may be used only under the permissions provided at submission.
