Important

This page is a business policy and is not legal advice. It should be reviewed by qualified Florida counsel before public launch.

Instructor and Range Authority

Instructor commands and range-officer instructions must be followed immediately. Safety decisions are final during training.

Core Safety Rules

  • Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
  • Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
  • Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until authorized and ready to fire.
  • Be certain of the target, surroundings, and what is beyond it.
  • Load, unload, draw, holster, or handle firearms only when and where authorized.
  • Wear required eye and hearing protection.

Fitness to Participate

Do not participate while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, medication, fatigue, illness, emotional distress, or any condition that may compromise safe judgment or physical control. Inform the instructor of a relevant limitation before training.

Equipment Rules

Firearms, ammunition, holsters, protective equipment, and accessories must be lawful, serviceable, and suitable for the course. Instructors may inspect or prohibit equipment.

Conduct Standards

Harassment, intimidation, threats, horseplay, fighting, reckless behavior, unauthorized recording, dishonesty, or interference with instruction is prohibited. Respect instructors, staff, range personnel, other students, facilities, and property.

Incidents and Emergencies

Immediately report injuries, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, negligent discharges, suspected theft, threats, or other incidents. Follow emergency and cease-fire commands without delay.

Removal or Refusal of Participation

RDSA may deny, pause, or end participation when a student is unsafe, unprepared, impaired, disruptive, ineligible, improperly equipped, or unwilling to follow instructions. Refund eligibility is governed by academy policy and the circumstances.

Legal Compliance

Students are responsible for complying with all applicable firearm, ammunition, possession, transport, licensing, and range laws. RDSA does not provide individual legal advice.

Alcohol, Drugs, and Official Communications

No alcohol, illegal drugs, cannabis, or other impairing substances may be used before, during, or immediately after class activities. Prescription or over-the-counter medication that may impair judgment, coordination, alertness, or safe firearm handling must be disclosed to the instructor before participation.

RDSA may refuse or end training at any time when a participant appears impaired, unfit, unsafe, disruptive, or unable to follow instructions.

Official course, payment, transfer, cancellation, and rescheduling communications must be made through the RDSA system or in writing by email. Text or WhatsApp may be used for urgent scheduling notice, but telephone calls alone do not constitute official notice.
